  • Baby Face Cloth Flowers

Anyone who has ever had a baby knows how busy those first few weeks are. Well-meaning flowers from friends & family will certainly meet an untimely end - as the thought of watering those lovely flowers will not even cross a new parents mind!

Instead of flowers, why not give the practical gift of face cloth flowers instead (and save yourself a pretty penny too)!

    What you need:

    • 2 packages of face cloths (6 cloths)
    • 1 package of safety pins
    • 1 package of baby spoons
    • I baby blanket
    • Ribbon (optional)

    Instructions

Take one facecloth and lay it out flat.

Fold each corner into the middle.

    Flip.

Fold each corner on the other side into the middle.

Behind each corner is a little flap. Pull it partially up to form the petal.

Safety pin all 4 corners in the centre.

Roll up a second facecloth and roll into a flower middle.

Place in the middle and secure with safety pins at the back of the flower, then insert a baby spoon behind the rolled flower middle, but in front of the flower petals.

Fold the receiving blanket in half and then in half again. Roll to form the ‘vase’ and temporarily safety pin.

Add decorative ribbon and tape or safety pin the ribbon snug. Stick your flowers into their blanket vase.

These flowers are cute and, better yet, practical. A new baby certainly requires double his or her weight in washcloths.

I love gifts that take some time and personal touches to create. They are thoughtful and filled with love!

What would you prefer as a new parent - flowers or facecloth flowers?
