• 5 Uses for Galvanized Metal Buckets

I was thrilled when I found the galvanized metal buckets at Dollarama. I love them! The buckets are offed in a variety of sizes, ranging in price from $1.50 - $2.50 each.

Galvanized metal means that a thin coating of zinc oxide has been applied to help prevent the buckets from rusting. So these buckets not only look nice, but they are also very durable.

Having trouble thinking of how you could use these buckets? Here is some inspiration:

    1. Toy Storage.

Here is a tutorial on how to transform these buckets into (quiet!) toy buckets.

    2. Flower Pot.

If you buy the biggest size of buckets available at Dollarama, you can pop an entire pot of flowers right inside the bucket. Since these are galvanized, you could choose to keep your flowers indoors or outdoor. You could also buy a smaller size bucket and use it as a “vase” for fresh cut flowers.

    3. Gift Basket.

These buckets provide a creative way to give a creative gift! For example, you could fill your bucket with gardening gear for the family gardener. Some gloves, a little shovel and rake, spray bottle, maybe even a plant, and you are set!

    4. Birthday Cake.

I am not sure about actually cooking in this bucket, but as soon as I saw these buckets at the store, I thought about using one for a “dirt cake“.

Bake a chocolate cake and cut into cubes. In a small-medium sized bucket, layer the cake, chocolate pudding, chocolate mousse, and Oreo cookie crumbs. Do this until the bucket is almost full and top with gummy worms (and maybe a sand shovel or two).

    5. Use as a cooler.

Fill your bucket with ice and pop your beverage of choice inside. Keep poolside, or out on the deck at your next get together for a fun way to keep your drinks cold.

These buckets can be painted to be personalized as well. Little hand prints of grandchildren and filled with flowers would make a lovely gift for a grandmother. Hand prints or names of students would make a lovely gift for a teacher. You are only limited by your imagination.

These buckets are practical, durable, and look great. Another wonderful find from my local dollar store!

What do you use these buckets for?

Weve been using these for dog food storage in our back upstairs closet and keep the reet downstairs to fill and also for their treats!

We use a fairly large one for an ash bucket for our wood stove in the family room. We also purchased a metal scoop from a feed store for about $3. and it was so much cheaper than buying a fancy one from a place that sells fireplaces.
